Job Details

CCPA proposes to engage Expert(s)/Professional(s) (Law) at Level-II to assist the Authority in ensuring regulatory compliances under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Engaged professionals will discharge functions assigned by the Chief Commissioner for assisting the Central Authority. Engagement is purely contractual for a term not less than six months and not more than three years, with performance reviewed every six months; terms may be modified by the Authority and either side may terminate with one month's notice.

1. Expert/Professional (Law) [Level-II]

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Essential qualification: LL.B or equivalent recognized by the Bar Council of India and eligible to be registered as an advocate under the Advocates' Act, 1961.
  • Desirable qualification: Higher qualification in consumer law or regulatory law.
  • Experience profile: Experience in courts or in Government/Regulatory Authority/Tribunal; or academic specialization in consumer law; or senior corporate legal role dealing with consumer law matters.

Salary Details

> Gross Salary: ₹70,000 Monthly

  • Pay level for engagement: Level-II (as per Schedule-II).

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting and interview:
Only short-listed eligible candidates will be called for interview with the Selection Board.
2. TA/DA:
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Document Requirements

1. Bio-data proforma:
Use the Annexure Bio-Data form (with passport size photograph).
2. Certificates:
Self-attested photocopies of all certificates must be attached.
3. Experience proof:
Self-attested photocopies of work experience certificates issued by the employer must be attached.
4. Additional documents (if any):
Copies of research publications or published writings and letters of recommendation may be enclosed, if any.

Important Instructions

1. Nature of engagement:
Purely contractual; no right to claim regular appointment or continued contractual engagement in CCPA.
2. Contract and confidentiality:
Selected candidates shall enter into a contract containing a confidentiality clause and other terms and conditions of engagement.
3. Termination:
Engagement may be terminated earlier by either side by giving one month’s notice; breach of contract terms may lead to termination.
4. Performance review:
Performance will be reviewed every six months to decide on continuance.
5. Tenure:
Engagement ordinarily not less than six months and not more than three years.

Bond or Service Agreement

1. Contract terms:
A formal contract will govern the engagement; confidentiality clause included; one month’s notice required for termination by either side.
