Job Details

The Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination 2024, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), is a prestigious examination for recruiting Assistant Commandants in various CAPFs, including BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB. How to Apply

1. OTR requirement:
Register once on UPSC’s One Time Registration (OTR) platform and then proceed to fill the online application for this exam.
2. Application filling:
Complete Part-I and Part-II of the online form at https://www.upsconline.nic.in, upload photo, signature and a scanned Photo ID.
3. Photo ID:
Provide and upload details of one valid Photo ID (Aadhaar/Voter ID/PAN/Passport/Driving Licence/other Govt. ID); carry the same ID to exam and PT.
4. Corrections:
Modify application fields between 15.05.2024 and 21.05.2024; OTR profile modification allowed once in lifetime up to 21.05.2024 (for first application).
5. Submission caution:
No application withdrawal permitted; incomplete/defective applications will be rejected.

Exam Pattern

1. Written Examination:
Two papers on 04th August, 2024 — Paper I (General Ability and Intelligence) 250 marks, 10:00–12:00; Paper II (General Studies, Essay and Comprehension) 200 marks, 14:00–17:00.
2. Medium:
Paper I bilingual (English/Hindi). In Paper II, Essay may be in English or Hindi; Precis/Comprehension and other language skills in English only.
3. Qualifying rule:
Minimum qualifying marks fixed by UPSC separately in each paper; Paper II evaluated only for candidates qualifying Paper I.
4. Negative marking:

Selection Process

Admit Card Details

1. Release:
e-Admission Certificate will be issued on the last working day of the preceding week of the exam and made available on UPSC website for download; no paper admit card by post.
2. Credentials:
Download using RID & DOB or Roll No. & DOB or Name, Father’s Name & DOB; verify details and report discrepancies to UPSC promptly.

Reservation Details

1. SC/ST/OBC/EWS:
Reservation will be provided as per Government policy in respect of vacancies fixed by Government.
2. Ex-Servicemen:
10% of vacancies are earmarked for ex-servicemen; if unfilled due to non-availability, they will be filled by non-ESM candidates.
3. OBC NCL Certificate:
OBC (NCL) certificate must be based on income for FY 2023-24, 2022-23 and 2021-22 and issued on/after 01.04.2024 but not later than 14.05.2024.
4. EWS Certificate:
EWS Income & Asset Certificate must be based on FY 2023-24 and issued on/after 01.04.2024 but not later than 14.05.2024.

Document Requirements

1. Scanned Photo and Signature:
JPG format; each file between 20 KB and 300 KB.
2. Photo requirements:
Photo not more than 10 days old from application start date; candidate’s name and date of photograph must be printed; face should occupy 3/4th of space; appearance must match at all stages.
3. Photo ID upload:
Upload scanned copy of the Photo ID used in application (Aadhaar/Voter/PAN/Passport/Driving Licence/other Govt. ID) and carry the same to exam and PT.
