The CISF Assistant Commandants (Executive) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) 2026 is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit eligible departmental candidates for the position of Assistant Commandants in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The examination includes a written test, physical efficiency test, medical standards test, and an interview/personality test.   • Service Requirement: Four years of regular service in the rank of Sub. Inspector (GD)/ Inspector (GD) as on 01st January, 2026.

Cut Off Marks

1. Written Examination:
Minimum qualifying marks will be fixed by the Commission.

How to Apply

1. Registration:
Create an account, register for Universal Registration Number (URN), then fill the Common Application Form (CAF) on https://upsconline.nic.in.
2. Exam-specific form:
After URN and CAF, fill the exam-specific form for CISF AC (Exe) LDCE during 3rd–23rd December, 2025 (till 6:00 p.m.).
3. No changes post submission:
No addition/deletion/changes are allowed in URN, CAF or Exam Specific Form once submitted.
4. Document upload:
Upload photo and signature in .jpg format, each between 20 KB and 300 KB; provide details of one valid Photo ID (Aadhaar/Voter ID/PAN/Passport/Driving License/other Govt. ID) in URN.
5. Hard copy through proper channel:
Route the printed hard copy of the online application with required certifications through proper channel to CISF so as to reach by 09.01.2026 at the DG, CISF address.
6. Earlier OTR discontinued:
The old One Time Registration (OTR) module is not applicable; URN system is in force.

Exam Pattern

1. Written Examination scheme:
Two papers conducted by UPSC: Paper I (General Ability & Intelligence and Professional Skill) — 300 marks, 150 MCQs, 2½ hours; Paper II (Essay, Precis Writing & Comprehension) — 100 marks, 2 hours.
2. Language/medium:
Paper I questions in English and Hindi. In Paper II, Essay may be written in English or Hindi, but Precis Writing and Comprehension are in English only.
3. Qualifying standards:
Minimum qualifying marks may be fixed separately for each paper at the discretion of the Commission.
4. Physical Efficiency Test (qualifying):
Males: 100 m in 16 sec; 800 m in 3 min 45 sec; Long Jump 3.5 m (3 chances); Shot Put (7.26 kg) 4.5 m (3 chances). Females: 100 m in 18 sec; 800 m in 4 min 45 sec; Long Jump 3.0 m (3 chances). No marks are awarded; failure in any test leads to disqualification.
5. Medical Examination:
Detailed Medical Examination (DME) with provision for Review Medical Examination (RME). Candidates are declared FIT or UNFIT.
6. Interview/Personality Test:
200 marks; conducted for candidates declared medically fit.
7. Final merit and tie-breaking:
Final merit based on aggregate marks; marks rounded to two decimals; tie resolved by written total, then Paper I marks, then seniority by age, then Commission’s discretion.

Syllabus Details

1. Paper I — General Ability & Intelligence (Part-A):
General Mental Ability; General Science; Current Events of National and International Importance; General Awareness (History, Geography, Polity, Economy).
2. Paper I — Professional Skill (Part-B):
CISF-related professional skills (industrial security/safety, disaster management, aviation security, VIP/internal security, technical gadgets, bomb disposal, perimeter/vital installations, drone technology, consultancy).
3. Professional Skill — Law:
Key provisions from Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023; Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023; Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023; labour laws; UAPA; Prevention of Corruption Act; IT Act; POCSO; human rights instruments and laws.
4. Professional Skill — Computer & HR:
Computer security, basic operations/hardware/software, AI; CCA Rules; CISF Act & Rules; HR functions related to CISF.
5. Paper II — Essay, Precis & Comprehension:
Essay to assess coherent, concise, grammatically correct expression; précis-writing and comprehension in English only.

Selection Process

1. Stages:
Written Examination (Paper I and II) → PST/PET (qualifying) → Medical Standards Tests (DME/RME) → Interview/Personality Test (200 marks) → Final merit.
2. Application scrutiny:
CISF will scrutinize applications for eligibility; Commission’s decision on admission/eligibility is final.
3. Relaxed standards:
SC/ST candidates may be summoned for PST/PET/Medical by applying relaxed standards if necessary to fill reserved vacancies.
4. Final selection subject to court case:
Final selection is subject to the outcome of Writ Petition (Civil) No. 5877/2022 in the High Court of Delhi.
5. Tie-breaking and rounding:
Marks rounded to two decimals; ties resolved by written total, then Paper I marks, then seniority by age, then Commission’s discretion.

Admit Card Details

1. Availability:
e-Admit Card will be uploaded one week before the date of examination on the UPSC website and must be downloaded by candidates.

Reservation will be made for candidates belonging to SC and ST as fixed by Government; 2026 vacancies: General-16, SC-03, ST-01.

Important Instructions

1. Mobile phones/electronics:

4. URN system in force:
All applicants must register URN and fill the new CAF; the old OTR module will not be applicable.
5. No TA/DA:
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the examination at any stage.
6. QPRep window:
Representations on question papers must be submitted only via the Online QPRep Portal from the next day of the exam to 06.00 p.m. of the 7th day; no emails/posts/hand submissions are accepted.

Interview Details

1. Interview/Personality Test:
200 marks; assesses mental calibre, general awareness, leadership, integrity, and behavioural traits; conducted by a Board with candidate’s record.

Training Details

1. Initial training:
Selected candidates will undergo training at the training centre of the Force after appointment.

Disqualification Criteria

1. Unfair means/impersonation:
Impersonation, procuring impersonation, possession/use of unfair means, influencing examiners, or obtaining question papers improperly will lead to disqualification/debarment and possible prosecution.
2. False information/documents:
Submitting fabricated/incorrect/tampered documents or making false statements will invite cancellation and debarment.
3. Prohibited items:
Possession or use of mobile phones, pagers, cameras, smart watches, bluetooth devices, programmable/storage devices in the exam is prohibited.
4. Misconduct:
Misbehaviour in the exam hall, creating disorder, writing obscene/irrelevant matter, or harassing staff will attract strict action.

Probation Period

1. Probation:
Appointees will remain on probation for a period of two years.
