Job Details

Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare invites applications for one post of Plant Protection Adviser in the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage (PPQS), Faridabad, on deputation (including short‑term contract) basis. The officer will advise Government of India on plant protection, quarantine, storage and locust matters; oversee executive and administrative work related to locust control and plant quarantine; and head the Directorate including its substations, with responsibilities of a Head of Department and support to States on plant protection schemes and anti‑locust operations. The post is General Central Service Group ‘A’ Gazetted (Non‑Ministerial) in Pay Level‑13A (Rs. 1,31,100–2,16,600). Essential qualifications include a Doctorate in specified disciplines and substantial supervisory and administrative experience. 1. Plant Protection Adviser

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational qualification: Doctorate Degree in Entomology/Nematology/Plant Pathology/Weed Science/Organic Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Agricultural Chemistry from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Experience: 12 years’ practical supervisory experience in control of pests/locust/plant diseases including applied research, and 3 years’ administrative experience.
  • Service condition: Deputation (including short‑term contract); officers holding analogous post or with two years’ service in Level‑13 in parent cadre/department.
  • Age limit: Not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of the receipt of applications.

Salary Details

> Salary Range: ₹1,31,100 - ₹2,16,600 Monthly

5. Cadre clearance (Annexure‑IV):
Complete and unconditional Cadre Clearance as per proforma (Annexure‑IV).

Important Instructions

1. Deputation tenure:
Period of deputation (including short‑term contract) ordinarily not to exceed five years, including time spent in any other ex‑cadre post immediately preceding this appointment.
