Job Details

Recruitment by the Railway Recruitment Boards to the posts of Non-Technical Popular Categories (Under Graduate) under Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 07/2025. Candidates are shortlisted through a first stage Computer Based Test (CBT-I) followed by the further stages laid down in the CEN.

Recruitment to Non-Technical Popular Categories (Under Graduate) posts under CEN No. 07/2025 of the Railway Recruitment Boards. The first stage Computer Based Test was held on 07, 08 and 09 May 2026 and continues, under a revised schedule, from 13 to 20 June 2026.

Fee Structure

Application Fee

1. For all candidates (except categories at Sl. No. 2):
Rs 500; Rs 400 shall be refunded on appearing in 1st Stage CBT after deducting applicable bank charges.
2. SC/ST/Ex‑Servicemen/PwBD/Female/Transgender/Minorities/EBC:
Rs 250; Rs 250 shall be refunded on appearing in 1st Stage CBT after deducting applicable bank charges.

Fees can be paid ONLINE through Net banking, Credit card, Debit card or UPI; processing charges and GST as applicable are extra.

Other Information

1. Refund eligibility:
Only candidates who attend 1st Stage CBT are eligible for refund; correct bank details must be furnished.
2. Non-refundable payments:
Payment is non-refundable and chargeback is not permitted; modification fee is non-refundable; there is no refund for erroneous, incomplete or rejected applications or for non-attendance of 1st Stage CBT.

How to Apply

1. Submission mode:
Applications must be submitted ONLINE only through the official websites of the RRBs (link on RRB websites).
2. Create an Account:
Create an account using a valid mobile number and email ID to receive OTPs; details entered in ‘Create an Account’ (including chosen RRB) cannot be changed later.
3. Identity authentication:
Candidates are strongly advised to authenticate their identity using DigiLocker or Aadhaar during ‘Create an Account’ for smoother verification.
4. Application sections:
Complete Personal Details, Other Details, Educational Qualification, Upload Profile Documents and Preview & Preference & Submit.
5. Preferences and medium:
Provide Zone preference for notified post(s) under chosen RRB and choose the examination language from the list available in the application.
6. Edits post-submission:
After submission, no edits are allowed except during the Modification window (30.11.2025 to 09.12.2025) on payment of Rs.250 per occasion; ‘Create an Account’ details and chosen RRB cannot be changed.

Exam Pattern

1. Negative marking:
There will be negative marking of 1/3 mark for every wrong answer in CBT.
2. 1st Stage CBT:
90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible scribe cases); 100 questions — General Awareness 40, Mathematics 30, General Intelligence & Reasoning 30; objective MCQs; minimum qualifying marks: UR 40%, EWS 40%, OBC 30%, SC 30%, ST 25% (may be relaxed by 2 marks for PwBD against reserved vacancies).
3. 2nd Stage CBT:
90 minutes (120 minutes for scribe cases); 120 questions — General Awareness 50, Mathematics 35, General Intelligence & Reasoning 35; objective MCQs; same qualifying percentages as above; normalization of marks will be applied.
4. CB Typing Skill Test (CBTST):
For Junior Clerk cum Typist and Accounts Clerk cum Typist; candidates up to 8 times community‑wise vacancies called; on Personal Computer only; 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi without editing tools/spell check; exemption possible for eligible PwBD candidates as per Annexure‑V(H).
5. Languages:
CBTs will be available in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages; the paper will be shown in the opted language and in English.

1. Mathematics:
Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Percentage, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Elementary Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, etc.
2. General Intelligence & Reasoning:
Analogies, Completion of Number/Alphabetical Series, Coding‑Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, Data Sufficiency, Statement‑Conclusion, Courses of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs, etc.
3. General Awareness:
Current Events of National/International Importance, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, General Science and Life Science (up to 10th CBSE), History of India and Freedom Struggle, Physical/Social/Economic Geography of India and World, Indian Polity and Governance (Constitution/Political System), General Scientific & Technological Developments, including Space/Nuclear Programmes of India, UN and other important World Organizations, Environmental Issues, Computers & Computer Applications, Common Abbreviations, Transport Systems in India, Indian Economy, Famous Personalities of India and World, Flagship Government Programs, Flora and Fauna of India, Important Government and Public Sector Organizations of India, etc.

Selection Process

1. Recruitment stages:
1st Stage CBT, 2nd Stage CBT, Computer Based Typing Skill Test (as applicable), Document Verification and Medical Examination.
2. Shortlisting basis:
Shortlisting for 2nd Stage CBT is on merit in 1st Stage CBT, considering order of post preferences.
3. Typing Skill Test calling ratio:
For Junior Clerk cum Typist and Accounts Clerk cum Typist, candidates equal to 8 times the community‑wise vacancies are called for CBTST.
4. Document Verification ratio:
Candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification (1:1).
5. Schedule and venue intimation:
Information on CBT schedule and venue will be given through RRB websites, SMS and Email. Requests for change of date/venue/shift will not be entertained.
6. Provisional candidature:
Admission to all stages is provisional and subject to verification of eligibility at subsequent stages.
7. Next stages:
Subsequent shortlisting for Document Verification will be based on performance in the 2nd Stage CBT (and other applicable tests as per rules).

Admit Card Details

1. E-call letter is not acceptance:
The mere issue of an e‑call letter does not imply acceptance of candidature; eligibility will be verified at subsequent stages.
2. City/date intimation and e‑call letter:
Link for viewing the exam city and date and downloading the travel authority for SC/ST candidates is made live 10 days before the exam date; e‑call letter download starts 4 days before the exam date.
3. SC/ST travel authority:
For eligible SC/ST candidates, the City Intimation Slip/e‑call letter itself will contain the Free Travel Authority (sleeper class pass).

Reservation Details

1. Vertical reservation:
Reservation for SC, ST, OBC‑NCL and EWS will be provided where applicable and admissible as communicated by the indenting Railways (details in Annexure‑B).
2. OBC‑NCL certificate:
OBC‑NCL candidates must produce certificate in prescribed format with date of issue not earlier than 01.04.2025 and not later than the closing date 27.11.2025; only communities in the central list are eligible.
3. EWS certificate:
EWS candidates must possess valid Income & Asset Certificate as on the closing date 27.11.2025 (financial year 2024‑25 applicable for this CEN).
4. Fee concession categories:
SC, ST, Ex‑Servicemen, PwBD, female, transgender, Minorities and Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates are eligible for fee concession.
5. EBC clarification:
EBC is distinct from EWS and OBC; EBC candidates are eligible only for fee concession and not for reservation of posts.

Document Requirements

1. Signature upload:
Upload scanned signature in JPG/JPEG, 30 KB to 49 KB, minimum 100 DPI, minimum 140x60 pixels; signature must be in running handwriting and centred within 35 mm x 20 mm box.
2. Live photograph:
A live photograph must be captured during application using webcam or smartphone; pre‑existing photos are not permitted.
3. Caste certificate for travel pass:
SC/ST candidates availing Free Travel Pass must upload caste certificate in PDF up to 400 KB and indicate nearest railway station.
4. DV originals and uploads:
Shortlisted candidates must produce all original certificates with two sets of self‑attested photocopies at DV and upload scanned copies of photo & signature before their DV date.

Important Instructions

1. One application only:
Apply to only one RRB; multiple applications to different RRBs or the same RRB will lead to rejection and debarment.
2. Banned items at exam:
Electronic gadgets (mobile phones, pagers, Bluetooth, calculators, smart watches etc.), bags and other listed items are banned inside the examination premises.
3. No change of schedule/venue:
Requests for postponement or change of venue/date/shift for CBT or subsequent stages will not be entertained.
4. Official websites only:
For authentic information and updates, visit only official RRB websites; beware of fake websites and touts.

Disqualification Criteria

1. Unfair means:
Candidates using unfair means (impersonation, cheating, forged documents etc.) will be debarred from all RRB/RRC exams for lifetime and are liable to legal action.
2. Photography/signature mismatch:
Applications with blurred/illegible/non-standard photos or signatures, or mismatch during verification, are liable for rejection.
