Exam Pattern

1. Computer-Based Examination:
Consists of 80 questions carrying 2 marks each, covering General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi.
2. Negative Marking:
There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Syllabus Details

1. General Intelligence and Reasoning:
Includes questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, and figural classification.
2. General Knowledge and Awareness:
Covers current events, India and its neighboring countries, sports, history, culture, geography, economic scene, general polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific research.
3. Elementary Mathematics:
Includes questions on number systems, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and time, time and work.
4. English/Hindi:
Tests candidates' ability to understand basic English/Hindi and their basic comprehension.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting for PST/PET:
Provisional shortlisting based on normalized CBE scores with applicable NCC bonus marks has been published; PST/PET will be conducted by CAPFs and call letters will be issued by CRPF (https://rect.crpf.gov.in).
2. Normalization:
Marks in the Computer Based Examination have been normalized as per Commission’s formula (Notice No. 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019).
3. NCC bonus marks:
Bonus marks granted provisionally: NCC ‘C’ Certificate—5% (8 marks), NCC ‘B’—3% (4.8 marks), NCC ‘A’—2% (3.2 marks); not awarded to Ex-Servicemen.
4. Tie resolution:
Ties resolved by: (a) Part-A marks, (b) Part-B marks, (c) Date of Birth (older higher), (d) Alphabetical order of names.
5. Lists published:
List-I (Female shortlisted for PST/PET), List-II (Male shortlisted for PST/PET), List-III (Withheld candidates), and List-IV (Debarred candidates).

Admit Card Details

1. Admit Card Release:
Admit cards will be available on the SSC website approximately three weeks before the exam date. Candidates must download and print their admit cards.
2. Admit Card Requirements:
Candidates should carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID to the examination center. Failure to produce these documents may result in disqualification.

Reservation Details

1. Reserved category migration option:
SC/ST/OBC candidates migrating from their State/UT of Origin to another State/UT were considered in their reserved category from Origin if they opted so; otherwise they were treated as UR of their domicile State/UT. Based on this option, 12,687 candidates were processed under UR, of whom 838 were provisionally shortlisted for PST/PET.

Document Requirements
