Job Details

SSC will conduct the Sub-Inspector Examination, 2026 for recruitment of Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police (Male/Female), Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs (CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, SSB) and Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF (Male). All posts are in Level-6 of the Pay Matrix Rs.35,400–1,12,400. Selection comprises Paper-I (CBT), Physical Standard/Endurance Tests, Paper-II (CBT), Detailed/Review Medical Examination and Document Verification. Posts in CAPFs carry All India Service Liability. Male candidates seeking SI in Delhi Police must possess a valid LMV Driving Licence on the date of PE&MT.

Submit application online at SSC (HQ) website or through the ‘mySSC’ mobile application.
3. Aadhaar authentication:
Candidates are advised to opt for Aadhaar-Based Authentication; those doing so will not be rejected for minor photo/signature non-conformity.
4. Live photograph and signature:
Application captures a real-time photograph; upload scanned signature in JPEG (10–20 KB, approx. 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm).
5. Deadlines:
Apply between 10.09.2026 and 30.09.2026 (23:00 hrs); pay fee online by 01.10.2026 (23:00 hrs).
6. Preview and records:
Verify details via Preview before final submit and retain a printout of the application for records.

Exam Pattern

1. Paper-I (CBT):
Four parts: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension; 25 questions for 25 marks in each part; total 100 marks; duration 1 hour with 15-minute sectional timer per part; negative marking 0.25 per wrong answer.
2. Paper-II (CBT):
General Intelligence & Reasoning (20 Q/40 M), General Knowledge & General Awareness (20 Q/40 M), Quantitative Aptitude (20 Q/40 M), English Comprehension (100 Q/200 M); total 320 marks; duration 1 hour with 20-minute sectional timers for the first three parts; negative marking 0.50 per wrong answer in Paper-II.
3. Normalization and answer keys:
Scores will be normalized if held in multiple shifts; tentative answer keys with Rs.50 per question challenge; final keys used for result processing.

Current events; India and neighbouring countries; History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, Polity, Indian Constitution, Scientific Research and everyday science.
3. Quantitative Aptitude:
Number systems, decimals, fractions, ratios, percentages, averages, interest, profit & loss, discount, partnership, mixture, time & work, time & distance, algebra, geometry (triangles, circles), mensuration (2D/3D), trigonometry, statistics (histogram, frequency polygon, bar diagram, pie chart).
4. English Comprehension:
Grammar and usage, vocabulary, synonyms/antonyms, error recognition, fill in the blanks, sentence structure and completion, idioms/phrases, reading comprehension.

Selection Process

1. Stages:
Paper-I (CBT) → PST/PET (qualifying) → Paper-II (CBT) → DME/RME (qualifying) with Document Verification → Final selection.
2. Qualifying marks:
Minimum qualifying marks: UR 30%, OBC/EWS 25%, all other categories 20%.
3. Merit and preferences:
Shortlisting after Paper-I for PST/PET; after Paper-II for medical; final selection and force/post allocation based on Paper-II performance (including NCC bonus, if any) and post/force preferences.

Admit Card Details

1. Issue mode:
Admission Certificates (AC) will be uploaded on SSC websites; not sent by post.
2. Availability timeline:
City/centre and schedule about 10 days before the exam; e-Admit Card downloadable 2–3 days before the exam.
3. Documents to carry:
For those without Aadhaar authentication, report 2 hours early and carry two recent colour photographs and an original valid photo ID with DoB; if DoB not on ID, carry an additional original document with DoB.

Reservation Details

1. Categories covered:
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ESM as per Government orders communicated by MHA (CAPFs) and Delhi Police.
2. Delhi Police SI (Male) ESM split:
Within ESM quota, 50% reserved for special categories (Special Force/NSG SAG, Qualified Instructors in commando course, or Navy/Air Force officers from specialized commando-type units).
3. Age relaxations:
SC/ST 5 years; OBC 3 years; Ex-Servicemen 3 years after deducting military service; specific relaxations for Delhi Police departmental candidates and for certain women candidates as detailed.
4. Certificates:
OBC certificates issued by GNCTD accepted for Delhi Police SI only if caste is not in the Central list; EWS requires certificate for FY 2026–27 based on income of FY 2025–26.

Document Requirements

Original and copies of Matriculation/Secondary Certificate, Educational Qualification certificates/mark sheets, equivalence order if claimed, caste/category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) certificate, LMV Driving Licence (for Delhi Police Male), ESM documents (Annexure-III/IV, discharge etc.), age relaxation proofs, NOC if employed, departmental certificate for Delhi Police, and documents for change of name if applicable.

Important Instructions

1. Single application:
Only one online application during the normal submission period; multiple applications lead to rejection and debarment as per rules.
2. Correction window:
Two chances to correct and resubmit during 08.10.2026 to 10.10.2026 with applicable correction charges; latest modified application will be treated as valid.
3. Biometric/Aadhaar:
Aadhaar-based biometric authentication implemented; candidates not opting must upload specified identity proofs during OTR.
4. Impersonation/photo:
Live photo capture required; applications with pre-existing photo images are liable to rejection.

Training Details

1. Obstacle events:
During training, candidates must pass seven obstacle events: Vertical Board, Rope hold, Tarzan swing, Horizontal Board, Parallel Rope, Monkey Crawl, Vertical Rope.

Disqualification Criteria

1. Unfair means and misconduct:
Comprehensive list of malpractices attracts cancellation and debarment ranging from 1 to 7 years (e.g., copying, impersonation, electronic gadgets possession, data hacking/manipulation, taking snapshots of papers, damaging infrastructure, misbehaviour).
2. Multiple appearances:
Appearing more than once in contravention of rules attracts 2–5 years debarment.

Probation Period

1. Probation:
Two years; candidates must undergo prescribed training/exams during probation for confirmation.

Tentative answer keys with objection window (Rs.50 per question) will be published after each CBT; final keys after result.
