The list of candidates finally selected under Advertisement No. 01/2019, against 2,446 vacancies in the posts of Police Sub-Inspector, Sergeant, Assistant Superintendent Jail (direct recruitment) and Assistant Superintendent Jail (ex-servicemen), after the combined preliminary examination, the main examination and the physical measurement and physical efficiency test, was published on 17.06.2021, and the marks of all candidates who appeared were made available on the Commission's website from 01.08.2021. After the marks were published some candidates represented to the Commission that their marks were above the cut-off yet they were not selected, and asked why. The Commission clarifies that the remarks column of these candidates' mark sheets plainly reads 'Not selected for the post of PSI/ASJ. Unfit for the post of Sergeant.', which means that their marks were lower than those of the candidates selected for the posts of Police Sub-Inspector and Assistant Superintendent Jail, so they were not selected for either of those two posts, and that they failed the physical efficiency test for Sergeant, so they could not be selected for Sergeant either. There are 2,341 such candidates whose marks are above the cut-off. The Commission further notes that a combined competitive examination was held under Advertisement No. 01/2019, in which, as the rules require, only a single cut-off - the lowest - is declared; separate cut-offs are not declared for the different posts.
