Selection Process
- 1. Method:
- Phase I consisting of an Objective Type Online/Offline Test, and Phase II consisting of a Practical Test in the relevant trade
- 2. Mark lists:
- Mark lists for each post shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured in the objective type test
- 3. Certificate verification:
- Candidates scoring minimum pass marks and above shall be shortlisted for certificate verification in the ratio of 6 candidates against one post, in the order of merit and reservation. Reserved category candidates in the mark list shall be counted against merit as well as reservation post
- 4. Phase II venue:
- Candidates who successfully complete certificate verification shall be shortlisted for the Phase II Practical Test, held at HCSL, Howrah or as desired by HCSL
- 5. Rank lists:
- Rank lists for each post shall be prepared based on marks secured by candidates meeting the notified eligibility requirements who pass both Phase I and Phase II
Admit Card Details
- 1. Admit Card Release:
- Admit cards will be available on the HCSL website approximately two weeks before the exam date. Candidates must download and print their admit cards.
- 2. Admit Card Requirements:
- Candidates should carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID to the examination center. Failure to produce these documents may result in disqualification.

- Candidates other than UR must submit a valid SC, ST, EWS or recent OBC-NCL certificate issued by a Revenue Authority not below the rank of Tahsildar

- To be submitted along with certificates. The candidate (presently serving in a Govt. Dept/Name of Organization) declares they have intimated their employer and provides Reporting Officer’s Name, Designation, Mobile Number and Email ID, with signature, place and date.

- Allocate adequate time to each subject and balance between general and trade-related studies.
Important Instructions
- 1. Late arrival:
- No candidate shall be admitted for the selection process after the commencement of the selection tests
- 2. Stationery:
- Candidates should bring their own stationery items to avoid sharing
- 3. Movement within premises:
- Movement to any area, building or work site of the yard other than the selection test venue is strictly prohibited
- 4. Rescheduling requests:
- Requests to change the date, time or venue of the selection test shall not be entertained
- 5. HCSL discretion:
- HCSL reserves the right to extend, postpone or reschedule the selection test for compelling or administrative reasons
- 6. No claim to employment:
- Issue of a call letter and attending the tests confers no right of acceptance of candidature and does not constitute an offer of appointment
- 7. Updates:
- Candidates are advised to visit the CSL and HCSL website career page frequently; any change in schedule will be notified on the CSL/HCSL website only
- 8. Consent to contact employer:
- By signing Annexure-II, the candidate permits HCSL to contact the present employer/reporting officer to confirm the declaration.
- 9. Employer objection clause:
- If any objection is received from the employer, the candidate will have no claim for selection to the post, as stated in the undertaking.
