- 1. Objective Type Test:
- 60 minutes duration, 50 multiple choice questions, each carrying 1 mark, with no negative marking.

Selection Process
- 1. Marks distribution:
- Project Officers on Contract Basis - Objective Type Test 50 marks, Personal Interview 20 marks, Relevant work experience as assessed by the selection committee during interview and presentation 30 marks, Total 100 marks.
- 2. Mode and centre:
- Depending upon the number of applications, the objective type test shall be held at HCSL through offline mode; allocation of the examination centre is at the sole discretion of HCSL.
- 3. Minimum pass marks:
- The minimum pass marks for unreserved posts are 50% of the total marks of the objective type test.
- 4. Mark list:
- Mark lists for each post shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured by candidates in the objective type test.
- 5. Shortlisting ratio:
- Candidates who score the minimum prescribed pass marks and above in the objective test shall be short-listed for the PowerPoint Presentation and Personal Interview subject to verification of eligibility requirements. HCSL shall call sufficient candidates for certificate verification in the order of merit so as to get a minimum ratio of 6 candidates against one post.
- 6. Certificate verification:
- Candidates must produce all required certificates in original along with self-attested copies at the time of certificate verification, failing which they shall not be considered for shortlisting to attend the PowerPoint Presentation and Personal Interview. Only those who successfully complete certificate verification shall be shortlisted to attend.
- 7. Venue of presentation and interview:
- The PowerPoint Presentation and Personal Interview shall be held at Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited (HCSL), Howrah.
- 8. Rank list:
- Rank lists shall be prepared based on the aggregate marks secured in the objective type test, experience and personal interview. Ties are broken by marks scored in the subject part of the objective type test, and thereafter by seniority in age.

- Call letters shall not be sent to short-listed candidates by post. They shall be informed to download the call letter by e-mail or through the HCSL website www.hooghlycsl.com.

- Basis of the figures: Consolidated pay per month escalates over the three-year contract: Rs. 37,000 in the first year, Rs. 38,000 in the second year and Rs. 40,000 in the third year. This is one escalating scale for the same engagement, recorded as a single range.
- Previous employment liabilities: HCSL shall not bear any liability on account of salary, leave salary, gratuity or pension contribution related to a candidate's previous employment in Government or Public Sector Undertakings.

- 1. Mode:
- Applicants should fill in the application form (Annexure I) with a recent passport size photograph pasted, and e-mail the scanned copies of the signed application form along with supporting documents in one PDF file to careers@hooghlycsl.com. Applications submitted direct or by any other mode shall not be accepted.

- Mention "Application for the post of..................................(Name of the post)" as the subject of the e-mail.

- 4. Completeness:
- The application form must be complete in all respects as per the advertisement notification. Filling of garbage or junk details in any field can lead to rejection. Applications that are incomplete, not in the prescribed format, not legible, without the required enclosures or unsigned will be summarily rejected without assigning any reason.
- 5. Acknowledgement:

- 6. Additional enclosures noted in Annexure I:
- Write the Advertisement No., category and post applied for on the top of the envelope, and attach a sheet in the applicant's own handwriting giving justification, in a maximum of 300 words, as to why the applicant considers himself/herself fit for the post.
Exam Pattern
- 1. Objective Type Test:
- 60 minutes duration, 50 multiple choice questions, each carrying 1 mark, with no negative marking.
- 2. Objective Type Test - General Knowledge:
- 10 marks
- 3. Objective Type Test - Subject Based:
- 40 marks
Selection Process
- 1. Marks distribution:
- Project Officers on Contract Basis - Objective Type Test 50 marks, Personal Interview 20 marks, Relevant work experience as assessed by the selection committee during interview and presentation 30 marks, Total 100 marks.
- 2. Mode and centre:
- Depending upon the number of applications, the objective type test shall be held at HCSL through offline mode; allocation of the examination centre is at the sole discretion of HCSL.
- 3. Minimum pass marks:
- The minimum pass marks for unreserved posts are 50% of the total marks of the objective type test.
- 4. Mark list:
- Mark lists for each post shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured by candidates in the objective type test.
- 5. Shortlisting ratio:
- Candidates who score the minimum prescribed pass marks and above in the objective test shall be short-listed for the PowerPoint Presentation and Personal Interview subject to verification of eligibility requirements. HCSL shall call sufficient candidates for certificate verification in the order of merit so as to get a minimum ratio of 6 candidates against one post.
- 6. Certificate verification:
- Candidates must produce all required certificates in original along with self-attested copies at the time of certificate verification, failing which they shall not be considered for shortlisting to attend the PowerPoint Presentation and Personal Interview. Only those who successfully complete certificate verification shall be shortlisted to attend.
- 7. Venue of presentation and interview:
- The PowerPoint Presentation and Personal Interview shall be held at Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited (HCSL), Howrah.
- 8. Rank list:
- Rank lists shall be prepared based on the aggregate marks secured in the objective type test, experience and personal interview. Ties are broken by marks scored in the subject part of the objective type test, and thereafter by seniority in age.
Admit Card Details
- 1. Call letters:
- Call letters shall not be sent to short-listed candidates by post. They shall be informed to download the call letter by e-mail or through the HCSL website www.hooghlycsl.com.
- 2. Schedule:
- The schedule of the selection process shall be intimated to short-listed applicants through e-mail or the HCSL website (Career page). Candidates are requested to check the website frequently for updates.
Reservation Details
- 1. Government directives:
- Government of India directives on reservation shall apply.
- 2. OBC certificate:
- Applicants belonging to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) must produce a valid recent community certificate in the prescribed format issued by a Revenue Authority not below the rank of Tahsildar, failing which their candidature shall not be considered against the reserved post nor for other concessions or relaxations applicable to the category.
- 3. Category split:
- The single post of Project Officer (Electronics) on contract basis is unreserved; no OBC, SC, ST or EWS vacancy is notified.

Important Instructions
- 1. Canvassing:
- Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
- 2. TA/DA:
- No TA/DA shall be paid to candidates for attending the selection process.
- 3. No right conferred:
- Mere submission of an application, issue of a call letter and attending the selection process confers no right of acceptance of candidature, is not an acknowledgement of fulfilling the eligibility criteria, does not constitute an offer of appointment and does not entitle the applicant to any claim for employment in HCSL.
- 4. Rejection correspondence:
- No correspondence regarding the rejection of an application in case of ineligibility shall be entertained.

- All documents related to this selection shall be preserved for a period of two years from the date of publication of results.

- 8. Acceptance of terms:
- Submission of an application shall be considered as unconditional acceptance of all terms and conditions of this vacancy notification.
- 9. No obligation to appoint:
- HCSL reserves the right not to fill up the vacancies notified. Filling up is subject to the suitability of candidates in the rank list, availability of projects and job requirements, and HCSL may restrict, alter, cancel or modify the recruitment process without notice or reason.

Bond or Service Agreement
- 1. Contract term:
- The post is temporary and for a maximum period of three years subject to project requirements and individual performance. The vacancies are purely on contract basis for a specific period and HCSL is not liable to offer appointment during or after completion of the contract period.
Disqualification Criteria
- 1. False information:
- If at the time of certificate verification or joining the short-listed candidate is found not to meet the eligibility requirements, fails to produce certificates in original, or if at any stage information furnished is found false or incorrect or facts have been suppressed, the candidate shall not be considered for selection and the candidature or appointment will be cancelled or rejected without further notice.
