Exam Pattern

1. Total time:
135 minutes
2. Total questions:
170 objective questions, each with 5 alternatives
3. Test 1 - General Aptitude (qualifying):
90 minutes total: Test of Reasoning 50 questions / 50 marks (bilingual); Quantitative Aptitude 35 questions / 35 marks (bilingual); English Language 35 questions / 35 marks (English only)
4. Test 2 - Professional Knowledge:
Civil or Electrical Engineering as per the post applied for, 50 questions / 100 marks, bilingual, 45 minutes
5. Qualifying papers:
All papers other than Professional Knowledge are qualifying in nature; minimum qualifying marks are decided, or may be waived, by the Bank.
6. Negative marking:
There is no negative marking in this examination.
7. Language:
Questions are bilingual in Hindi and English, except the Test of English Language.
8. Sectional timing:
General Aptitude and Professional Knowledge have separate timings; navigation between questions is only allowed within the time prescribed for that test.

20 minutes for each 60 minutes for candidates with disability eligible for compensatory time.

Syllabus Details

1. General Aptitude:
Covers Test of Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language.
2. Professional Knowledge:
Covers Civil or Electrical Engineering subjects as applicable.

Selection Process

1. Stage 1:
Online written examination (General Aptitude - qualifying, and Professional Knowledge).
2. Shortlisting for interview:
Candidates must score at or above the Bank's cut-off in the Professional Knowledge test, besides scoring the minimum qualifying marks in the other papers.
3. Stage 2 - Interview:
An adequate number of candidates as decided by the Bank are called for interview, based on performance in the online written test. The interview carries 25 marks; qualifying marks are decided by the Bank.
4. Merit list:
Final merit is arrived at by aggregating the Professional Knowledge test (out of 100) and the interview (out of 25), with weightage of 70% for the written test and 30% for the interview.

Admit Card Details

1. Call letter:
Candidates must note the roll number, date of exam, reporting time and venue printed on the call letter.
2. Photograph:
A recent passport size photograph must be firmly affixed on the call letter.
3. Surrender:
The call letter, signed and with left thumb impression, must be submitted at the venue along with a photocopy of the photo identity proof.

Reservation Details

1. Reservation Policy:
Reservations apply for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwBD categories according to the latest government policies.
2. SC/ST Reservation:
15% of seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.
3. OBC Reservation:
27% of seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates.
4. EWS Reservation:
10% of seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) as per government norms.
5. PwBD Reservation:
4% of seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) across various categories as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act.

Document Requirements

1. Photo identity proof:
Currently valid photo identity proof in original plus a photocopy is mandatory; entry is refused without it.
2. Scribe declaration:
Persons with disability who wish to use a scribe must submit the Scribe Declaration Form, downloadable from the Bank's website, along with the call letter.
3. Medical certificate for scribe:
Candidates availing a scribe under OM F. No. 29-6/2019-DD-III dated 10.08.2022 must produce a certificate from a competent medical authority of a Government healthcare institution, as per Appendix I and Appendix II of those guidelines.

Preparation Tips

Important Instructions

1. Punctuality:
Latecomers are not allowed to take the test; candidates may not leave the hall until the test is over or permission is given.
2. Prohibited items:
Calculators, cell phones, smart watches, books, notes, pen drives, log tables, electronic pens or scanners, Bluetooth devices, earphones, pagers, health bands, goggles, handbags, hair pins, hair bands, belts, caps, watches, cameras, any metallic item, any eatable item and non-transparent water bottles are barred from the examination hall.
3. Stationery:
Candidates must bring their own pencils, ball point pen, eraser and blue ink stamp pad; rough work is done only on sheets provided, which must be returned.
4. Biometric registration:
Registration at the venue is by photograph and IRIS capture; the left eye iris is captured for all candidates. Contact lenses and spectacles must be removed for the capture. For visually impaired candidates a right thumb impression is captured instead.
5. Appearance:
Candidates must not change their appearance from the photograph uploaded with the application; the captured photo is matched against it.
6. Signature:
The signature must tally with the one uploaded; signatures in capital letters are not accepted.
7. Keyboard:
Candidates must not press any keyboard key once the exam starts, as this locks the exam.
8. Travelling allowance:
No travelling allowance or other expense in connection with the examination is paid.
9. Risk:
Candidates appear at the examination centre at their own risk and expense.

1. Interview Process:
The interaction assesses a candidate’s suitability for the role based on their knowledge, experience, and communication skills.

Disqualification Criteria

1. Malpractice:
Copying or allowing copying, using unfair means, impersonation or procuring impersonation, misbehaving at the venue, disclosing or reproducing test content, other irregular means, or obtaining support for one's candidature leads to disqualification from selection and permanent or fixed-period debarment from Bank examinations, besides criminal prosecution.
2. False information:
Candidates are warned against furnishing false, tampered or fabricated information or suppressing material information.
3. Response similarity analysis:
The Bank analyses candidates' responses for patterns of similarity and may cancel candidature where scores are found not genuine or valid.
4. Identity documents:
Appearing without photo identity proof in original and a photocopy, without the call letter, or without a photograph affixed to the call letter results in non-admittance.
5. Instructions:
Violating the instructions of test administrators or invigilators leads to disqualification and possible removal from the hall.
